A Terrible Event

So Sunday was a terrible Mother's Day. It was good, Mom and Family wise.
But early that morning I was helping my mom put the flea medicine on the animals and she accidentally grabbed the big dog's dose instead of Gus' dose.
But as she was putting it on him I was like this is too much than what was on Myth.
So we realizes the mistake instantly and gave Gus three baths.
Three baths. With lots of scrubbing on the back of his neck.
Gus is a 14 year old cat, mind you. So he's very old.
My mom called our vet and he said he should be good but if anything happens to let him know.
We kept him monitored for a few hours as we got ready to leave since we had a mother's day thing at my grandmother's house.
My boyfriend and I didn't stay long.
I was sick with sinus crud and hadn't slept, plus I was worried about Gus.
Around 1:30 we left my grandmother's house and came home (We had been gone since 11:40)
And I went to check on Gus only to find him starting to have convulsions.
They weren't that bad but I instantly called my mom.
She rushed home, called the vet, and our vet called to an emergency animal hospital nearby.
I don't remember much of the car ride, other than me griping at my mom that the speed limit was 40, not 65.
I also remember Gus having horrible seizures in the cage, like he was being possessed. And his eyes were bloodshot and one pupil was huge while the other was small.
Sean tried to keep me from seeing anything but I was crying so hard I could barely see anything anyways.
We got him there just in time and the vets saved him.
He's in recovery, with a few twitches here and there and some bald spots on his front legs where they had to shave for IVs and shots that calmed his muscles.
It was the worst experience I had ever had.
I wasn't ready to lose my best friend, and he cashed in four of his nine lives to stay with me.
He's getting better and has been getting non-stop cuddles and pets from everyone (as well as pieces of everyone's food here and there because I'm sure my mom cooked him a whole piece of chicken. Lol)
Just remember that your pets lives aren't as long as yours.
And you need to make every day count.

Ignore my "I had been crying all day and night" face. But this was when he just got home Monday night.

And this was our cuddles yesterday. His skin is bruised but it will heal. He's happy to be back home.
